Books that teach the art of Consulting offer a great way of learning the ins and outs of Consulting and at a much lower price than taking, for example, a specialist Management Consulting Course or an Executive MBA Course. By reading a book, you consume a huge amount of research in a relatively short amount of time, and it is one of the best ways to improve your skills.

Two of my favorites are Cracked It! and Strategy, Beyond the Hockey Stick. both books offer valuable insights. Cracked it, is a "how to" book" for those new to the field. Informative and useful.
You totally missed many of the best books out there. The highest rated book on Amazon isn't even on your list?! (The Irresistible Consultant's Guide to Winning Clients by David Fields.) This is definitely an oversight. At least if readers want to know how to build a firm (rather than just climb the ladder inside a big-3).
